I got the Sex and The City Blues

I'm sooooo depressed...Everyone I know is seeing Sex and The City this weekend. I can't go and won't be able to go for about two weeks. I'm still recuperating and have to take it easy. I've never been this fashionably late to anything hip =(

Yesterday was my first day outside in over a week; I had a doctor appointment. I convinced my mom that a short trip to Target was needed and she graciously indulged me =) I bought the SATC soundtrack to bring a little sunshine into my otherwise on lockdown status. I know the movie is FAB and I have to be very careful not to read any websites that may have movie spoilers.

What's in my makeup bag?

Hey lovely people! I'm on the mend after having surgery last week and I can't get around as much as I'd like to. In my confined state, for the next couple of weeks I'll be doing short posts.

I like peeking inside the makeup bags of celebrities and fellow beauty bloggers.

Here's a rundown of what products are in mine:

*Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Mineral Powder Blush in Pure Plum

*Physician's Formula Talc-Free Mineral Wear Mineral Mascara in Ultra Black

*Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze in Lasting Shimmer
*Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Rootbeer
*Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Cuticle and Nail Moisture Treatment Pen
*Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume
*Maybelline NY Shadow Stylist in Casual Brown
*MAC Eye Shadow in Shale
*Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Majestic Plum
*MAC Cork Lip Liner

Lip Gloss Battle: L'Oreal & Revlon

L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss vs. Revlon ColorStay Mineral Lipglaze

I got Infallible L/G when it first cam out but I'm behind on my reviews...sorry. L’Oreal had me with the words 6 hour lip gloss. I chose #805 Suede which is a very neutral shade. I paired it with my MAC Cork lip liner. The applicator has a weird enlarged triangular shape – not the typical doe foot applicator of most lip glosses. I thought the shape was odd. Upon applying the gloss I didn't like the triangle brush at all. It's just too large. The gloss has decent staying power. It lasted through out my grapefruit and toast breakfast; I was able to drink a Venti White Mocha from Starbucks with barely a trace of the gloss being left on the cup. The six hour claim is an exaggeration and the formula is too dry. My lips felt tight the entire time I was wearing Infallible. This product just didn't do it for me. Definitely won't repurchase.

Yesterday I wandered into Walgreen's during my lunch hour and I saw some new beauty displays. There were a lot of women crowded around the displays so it was hard for me to get a good look at anything. I was also pressed for time so I was only able to get a brief look at Revlon's ColorStay Mineral Lipglaze. I chose Lasting Shimmer (yes...another nude shade but in my defense I didn't have time to study all the shades). Revlon doesn't have Mineral Lipglaze on their site yet. The consistency is like a liquid lipstick and glides on smoothly. The display claims that MLG lasts 8 hours. I can just attest to it lasting well past midnight with only one touch up needed. I'll have to test it for a full eight hours on my next work day. The lipglaze is not drying and the finish is a little more matte. I added a dot of clear lip gloss in the middle of my bottom lip and that gave me just enough shine. I plan to fully investigate the rest of the shades and I'm sure I'll buy more!

Is There A Shoe Worth Killing For?

Yes, dammit, yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And here is that shoe:

Christian Louboutin Patent Pump

By the way, in case anyone wants to surprise me with a pair I wear a size 7.5, LOL!!!!

Oh, Sarah Jessica...

Only SJP could get away with this kooky hat...

I can't help but wonder if she was paying homage to the late Isabella Blow since the premiere was in London. Nevertheless, SJP sticks to her usual quirky yet more glam than thou look. A fashion risk...Yes. Would you or I do it? No, but we're also not in the movie or any movie for that matter, lol.

What do you think of Miss Sarah Jessica Parker's hat and her look overall? Yay or Nay???

CLEARANCE!!!!!!!!!!! Loeffler Randall for Target

Target's designer lines always get me a little giddy and I feel compelled to purchase something. I have no time or desire to traipse around Chicago scouring various Targets looking for items from these lines. My method of getting the goods involve stalking Target's website until the prices are slashed. I managed to snag a bag from the Loeffler Randall for Target collection which is now on clearance.

I got the bag pictured and I love it. Love it even more because I got it for 75% off. Sometimes you have to style stalk to get a good deal!

My Perfect Jeans

Like most women I have a very hard time finding jeans to fit my body. I think I have it worse than most though. For starters, I'm 5'3", I have a short waist which makes my legs appear longer, and to top it all off I'm really thin. My pants size ranges from zero to two depending on the store. Oh...I failed to mention I've got a tiny caboose.

There's no video girl booty going on over here...I must have been soomewhere sleeping when derrieres were being passed out. But alas, I'm happy in my skin. This is the way God made me and he doesn't make mistakes. The same cannot be said of denim manufacturers which is why women devote entire shopping trips to just trying on jeans.

I can't jump on every denim trend. As of today, I have yet to purchase a pair of skinny jeans. I tried a pair on and honestly, my legs looked like two drinking straws...not cute. I have a list of requirements that I need a pair of jeans to meet in order for me to feel that I'm looking my best. My perfect jeans have to be low rise, boot cut, a dark rinse, and they can't be loose in the thigh area.

When I find a perfect pair of jeans, I tend to buy multiple pairs. The Old Navy Boot Cut Diva Jean is my current perfect jean. They fit me like a glove. When I tried ON jeans a few years ago, I hated them. The fit was awful, they were too short, and they looked cheap. So glad that they revamped their denim line. I am now the proud owner of four pairs of ON Diva Jeans. The only flaw in the jeans is the length. The regular length was a lot shorter on me than I wanted and the long was the perfect length. The major plus is the price, $30!!!!! That's what's up.
Have you found your perfect pair of jeans? What are they?
